Laura B., Executive Director

Laura is a native of Northern Michigan who attended Central Michigan University for an undergraduate degree in Anthropology/Human Services. She later received her MBA in Healthcare Administration from Western Governor’s University with a focus on non-profit management. While Laura’s background includes managing both mid and large-scale non-profit programs throughout both Michigan and Minnesota, her passion for non-profits began with hands-on services when she worked as a Direct Care Worker and Case Manager right after college. With over 20 years of non-profit experience, Laura has developed a strong understanding of strategic planning, service line and program development, and budget oversight. Laura has a passion for working with children and families. In her free time Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and children, hiking, fishing, playing piano, reading, and cooking.

Danae L., Program Director

Danae started her journey at the CAC in January of 2021 as an intern after spending a few years working in the non-profit world as a sexual assault advocate. Very quickly she fell in love with the work being done at the CAC as well as the agency and their mission. Upon the completion of her internship and Social Work degree from Ferris State University, Danae joined the CAC staff as the Family Advocate. As she became more immersed in the work and spent some time working in mental health and case management, Danae discovered a greater passion for macro level social work, as well as program management and development. Currently, Danae is the program director at Open Arms Child Advocacy Center and directly supervises the Family Advocate, Forensic Interviewers, and Interns.

Beth T., Forensic Interviewer
